2020
We met
Our mutual friend played matchmaker during the pandemic's prime. Our first date? At Montgomery Ward Park, where we kept six feet apart, sipped champagne, savored strawberries on toothpicks, and chatted until the stars stole the spotlight.
2021
We quarantined
Throughout the beginning of 2021, COVID kept love at bay with Emily quarantined in Arizona and Aaron in Lake Tahoe. But our connection grew through texts, FaceTime, PowerPoint slides, handwritten notes, and stick figure drawings (the pandemic romance toolkit).
2021
We made it official
Reunited in the summertime, Aaron asked Emily to be his girlfriend during a round of golf at Lake Shore Country Club. “Under one condition,” she responded, “you must pass the Nala test.” After a few months of jealousy, side-eye gazes, and playing hard to get, Nala gave Aaron her blessing, and we made it official.
2022
We moved in
The next year was a whirlwind of food/wine tastings, golf shenanigans, friend and family swaps, TV show marathons, Taylor Swift sing-a-longs, cozy late-night chats, and slow coffee mornings. And, with no desire to leave each other's side, Emily handed over her spare set of keys to Aaron.
2021—2023
We traveled
From Napa to Vail, Hawaii, Bordeaux, San Sebastian, Portugal, Thailand, and Japan, among many other places, we've traveled hand in hand. Rest assured, this adventure is just getting started.
2023
We said yes
Leave it to Aaron, the mastermind of meticulous planning, to orchestrate the perfect proposal right where our story began—at the park. Complete with a hopping, high-pitched “YES!” and a dramatic collapse to the ground as Emily's family ran out of the bushes to share the moment. The festivities continued into the evening, celebrating with our closest friends.
